森町長子作品展

森町長子は1942年鎌倉生まれ。漫画家として「靴」と「ドア」の2作が1969年の第2回ビッグコミック賞佳作第1席に選ばれると、第3回、第4回と三回連続で入賞、将来を嘱望されるも画家に転身。
1971年には芸術生活画廊第7回公募コンクールに入選、同年、芸術生活画廊で初個展と、その画才はすぐに発揮され、その後も個展を中心に作品を発表します。87年の個展を最後に作品の発表が途絶えたため知る人ぞ知る存在となってしまいましたが、80歳の現在も「いたずら描き」と言いながら、描くことを続けています。

Nagako Morimachi was born in Kamakura in 1942. As a cartoonist, her two works "Shoes" and "Doors" were selected as the first honorable mention in the 2nd Big Comic Award in 1969, and she won three consecutive awards in the 3rd and 4th Big Comic Award, and although she showed great promise for the future, she switched to painting.
In 1971, her work was selected for the 7th Geijutsu Seikatsu Gallery ( Art Life Gallery ) Competition, and in the same year, she had her first solo exhibition at Geijutsu Seikatsu Gallery, where her talent for painting was immediately apparent. However, even at the age of 80, she continues to paint, calling his work "mischievous drawings.
This exhibition features 10 works from the gallery collection.
