合田佐和子展

合田佐和子は、1940年高知生まれ、2016年2月没。
武蔵野美術学校在学中より制作していたオブジェ作品を瀧口修造に認められ、その後、油彩、写真、映像、舞台美術などにその才能を発揮し、マルチアーティストの先駆けとして60年代以降の日本のアートシーンにおいて独自の足跡を残しました。
高知県立美術館での展示を終え、現在、三鷹市美術ギャラリーで合田佐和子展「もう帰る途もつもりもなかった」が開催されております。それに合わせ、みうらじろうギャラリーでの11回目の合田佐和子展を開催いたします。
今回の展示には、ギャラリーの所蔵作品に加え、作家と親交のあった方の所蔵する作品をお借りして展示いたします。
生前、「毎年個展を開催しましょうね。」と約束し、これまで10回の展示をしてまいりましたが、公立の美術館で回顧展も開催され、ギャラリーとしての役割も終えたかなと思っております。
ただ、いちファンであることには変わりありませんので、機会があればまた展覧会を企画するかと思いますが、まずは今回の展示で一区切りとしたいと存じます。

Sawako Goda exhibition - from our collection

Born in Kochi in 1940, died in Kanagawa in 2016. Sawako Goda attended Musashino
Art University where she primarily produced objet d'art which earned her
the recognition of Shuzo Takiguchi. As her career as an artist progressed,
she subsequently demonstrated talents in oil painting, photography, film,
the art of play scenic, and other media.
After closing her exhibition at the Museum of Art, Kochi, Sawako Goda's exhibition "Goda Sawako : A Retrospective / I had no way or intention of leaving." is now being held at the Mitaka City Gallery of Art. In conjunction with this exhibition, we are pleased to present the 11th exhibition of Sawako Goda at JIRO MIURA Gallery. For this exhibition, in addition to works from the gallery's collection, we will borrow works from the collection of people who were friends with the artist. Before her death, I promised with the artist as "Let's hold a solo exhibition every year." We have held 10 exhibitions so far, and now that a retrospective exhibition has been held at a public museum, we feel that our role as a gallery has come to an end. However, as I am still her fan, I will probably plan another exhibition if the opportunity arises, but first of all, I would like to conclude with this exhibition.
