彼女の作品は、ユーモアやムラっ気を交えて女の子と猫の友情を描いています。足の長い体のアングル、猫の動きとクラシックなインテリアのモチーフや色との組み合わせは、彼女の直感的でダイナミックな画面構成を作り出しています。
Amy Crehore is a long-time painter and illustrator located in Oregon, USA. She was educated at VCU School of the Arts in Richmond, VA. Her paintings have been included in shows at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Portland Art Museum in OR, the Museum of American Illustration in NYC and the Shore Institute of Contemporary Art in NJ. Her solo show, “Dreamgirls and Ukes”, was held in Los Angeles, CA at Thinkspace Gallery. Other galleries that have shown her work include Robert Berman, Corey Helford,and CoproNason (Blab! shows) in L.A.; Ad Hoc, Last Rites and Marianne Boesky in NYC; M Modern in Palm Springs, Roq La Rue in Seattle, WA, and Parlor Gallery in NJ. Amy Crehore has been an illustrator for America’s top magazine and book publishers since 1991. Her illustrations have appeared in Playboy, Rolling Stone, Esquire, NY Times, ESPN, GQ, and MS magazines and on book covers for Simon and Schuster, Houghton Mifflin and more. She is known for her playful “Monkey Love” paintings, “Little Pierrot” series and “Tickler Ukuleles” which were featured on boingboing.net. Her work has been shown on NBC’s Today Show and she has been interviewed by Inked Magazine and published in Communication Arts and American Illustration award annuals. ------------------ Amy Crehore’s paintings describe the friendship of girls and cats with a touch of humor and moodiness.
